Technical and Economic Research on Far Coast Wind Power Transmission Based on AC Transmission System

Under the cost pressure of grid parity, the large-scale development and adoption of large-capacity wind turbines (WTs) in the far sea is an important way to improve the economics of offshore wind power (OWP). First, the influence and main factors of offshore wind power access on the power grid are analyzed to achieve the practical purpose of minimizing the negative impact of offshore wind power access on the power grid and at the same time increasing the power grid’s ability to absorb OWP. In order to conduct technical and economic research on the power collection methods of large-capacity OWP units, we analyzed offshore wind power AC, including 35 kV AC power collection and 66 kV AC power collection. A technical and economic comparison of different power collection system solutions under typical operating conditions of OWP was conducted. On this basis, this paper summarizes the power collection system solutions and technology development trends of OWP in the era of grid parity, and proposes a technical route for the future development and construction of large-scale OWP grid parity in the far sea.
