Improved Iterative Unbalance Compensation in High- Speed Operation of Active Magnetic Bearing Rotor System

In applications where high precision of rotor suspension is required, it is necessary to minimize rotor vibration as much as possible. Controlling rotor unbalance vibration is an important issue in suppressing rotor vibration. To address the problem of decreasing control precision of rotor unbalance vibration with increasing rotor speed, a method of phase compensation for rotor control at high speeds through parameter adjustment is proposed. Firstly, a rotor model under active magnetic bearings is established, and real-time variable step size iterative identification algorithm is used to identify the rotor unbalance parameters. Then, the reasons for the decrease in control precision are analyzed, taking into account the influence of the low-pass characteristics of the power amplifier on the identification parameters, and considering the lag phase of the power amplifier, the parameters are adjusted accordingly to compensate for the phase at high speeds rotation. The simulation results show that the improved control method effectively suppresses the rotor vibration displacement at high speeds. Compared to the unimproved control method, the rotor vibration displacement at high speeds is reduced by 80 percent.
