Multi-objective Optimization Design of an AFFMPM Machine based on SVM and NSGA-II Algorithm

Axial-field flux-modulated permanent magnet (AFFMPM) motor combines the advantages of both axial-field (AF) topology and flux-modulation (FM) machine, which can improve torque density and achieve the characteristics of low speed and high torque. However, the special three-dimensional (3D) structure of AF topology results in time-consuming analysis of electromagnetic performance. Meanwhile, due to the strong coupling between FM machine parameters make the multi-objective and multi-parameter optimization necessary. This greatly intensifies the design and optimization cycle of AFFMPM machines. To address such issues, a multi-objective optimization design based on SVM and NSGA-II algorithm is proposed for the newly developed AFFMPM topology.
