Zero-Order Electromagnetic Vibration Reduction Method for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor With Harmonic Currents Injection

With the widespread application of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), their vibration and noise have also received more attention. The traditional reducing vibration method by adjusting the motor topology is not universal and costly. Because the zero-order mode of PMSMs often have low natural frequency, it is one of the key factors causing motor vibration. Therefore, a method of reducing the zero-order component of electromagnetic force waves by injecting harmonic currents is proposed in this paper. Based on the zero-order modal frequencies of different PMSMs, the method can reduce electromagnetic vibration by flexibly changing the frequency and amplitude of harmonic currents.
