Design and Analysis of Linear Haptic Motor with Pure Magnetic Spring

With a growing demand for haptic motors characterized by extended lifespan and superior performance, this paper introduces two innovative motor designs incorporating a pure magnetic spring. Employing the Maxwell stress tensor and an electromagnetic-mechanical coupling method, the force profile and acceleration results are analyzed, respectively. In the analysis of the link-type motor, the combined effects of x- and z-cogging forces on the mechanical system owing to its swing motion are considered. Notably, the link-type motor, showcasing comparable results to the prototype, emerges as a more competitive design.
