The Analytical Calculation and Measurements of the Magnetic Force Between Permanent Magnet and Rotor Yoke of a Large-Scale Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator

This paper presents analytical calculations and measurements of the magnetic force between the permanent magnet (PM) and rotor yoke in a large-scale PM synchronous generator (PMSG). Assembling PM in a large-scale PMSG is challenging due to its significant magnetic force. Accurately predicting the PM magnetic force during assembly is crucial. The analytical solution provided in this paper is valuable for designing the PM assembly zig in various machine sizes. An experimental setup, scaled down and incorporating a steel plate to neutralize magnetic forces, is used. Results from experiments and analytical solutions are compared to validate the accuracy of the calculations.
