Analysis on Conductive Screen Effects on Dual Air-Gap Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

When double stator or double rotor configurations are used, electric motors with a double air-gap construction can achieve more power or torque density than their single air-gap counterparts. The authors of previous research suggested a double-stator permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that isolated the inner and outer motors by placing a conductive screen in the center of the rotor. However, because the design was selected at random, the conductive screen analysis was not included in that study. The impacts of conductive screen size are the main topic of this study, which also determines the ideal dimensions for motor performance. A finite element analysis (FEM) is used to evaluate the screen's electroconductive properties. The motor is then produced and put to the test. According to the findings, there is a notable increase in efficiency when the size of the conductive screen is selected.
