Russian Regions Industrial Development Dynamics Intellectual Analysis and Forecasting

The paper shows possible Federation's subjects clustering models based on their industrial development level. Problem solution achieved with hierarchical clustering approach. In order to determine attributes, indicators system was developed, based on data from official statistical sources, including four indicators characterizing industrial production in Russia. The study presents regions cluster analysis according to the proposed indicators system and forecasts for Volga and Central Federal District industrial production index. Clustering was carried out using the Ward method, which allows hierarchically nested clusters formation. For forecasting, regression models and time series analysis methods were used, which showed similar dynamics: industrial production growth can be traced in accordance with the obtained forecast values.
