Intelligent Shopping Trolley with Automated Billing using Raspberry Pi

This paper discusses the potential applications of wireless technology in various fields, including the development of an automated shopping trolley using a combination of a Raspberry Pi device, QR code scanner, and LCD display. During busy sales periods and holidays, long queues at supermarkets can result in a time-consuming billing process and inconvenience for customers. To address this issue, the proposed automated shopping trolley allows customers to self-scan products and prepare their own bills, eliminating the need for long queues at the billing counter. As wireless technology advances, there are many areas where it can be applied. This paper explores the use of a Raspberry Pi device with a QR code scanner and LCD display to create an automated shopping trolley. With this, customers will be able to self-scan their items and generate their bill without having to wait in long queues during peak shopping periods. This trolley would drastically reduce the time spent waiting for billing at the counter. This paper examines the possibilities of wireless technology used in various fields. For example, a Raspberry Pi device with a QR code scanner and LCD display could be combined to create an automated shopping trolley.
