Photovoltaic System Fault Detection Using Voltage/Current Tracking

In this proposed work, 4 panels with 2 sets of 2 panels parallelly connected are used. At first, the readings indicated the normal operating condition of the solar photovoltaic system. The readings are noted. Then open-circuit and short-circuit conditions are created manually by disconnecting the panels. First, panel 1 is short circuited. And its corresponding readings are taken. Likewise, for all other panels, their corresponding readings are taken. And then the connection between panel 1 and panel 2 is disconnected to make it an open circuit fault. Their readings are noted. Likewise, panels 3 and 4 are disconnected, and readings are noted. By using this method, a more accurate diagnosis of a solar photovoltaic system is possible. And can be used for large areas as well.
