An Approach to the Problem of Balancing a Symmetrical Antenna Circuit Fed by Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Lines

The interpretation of the concept of balanced circuit feeding and the practical use of balancing often cause difficulties. This includes the antenna circuit of a symmetrical antenna. The paper attempts to approach the problem of balanced feeding of such a circuit. Methods of balanced feeding have been analyzed. Examples of feeding shielded symmetrical lines using a symmetrical generator and an asymmetrical generator with a balun were considered. The use of an asymmetrical coaxial line fed from an asymmetrical generator, feeding the antenna directly and via a balun, was considered. The advantages of using a magneto-dielectric absorber were pointed out, allowing to effectively improve the balancing parameters of an antenna circuit with a balun. Due to the widespread use of coaxial lines with baluns to feed symmetrical antennas, the use of absorber cables (coaxial cables with absorption coating) can potentially be very useful.
