Design Analysis of Automatic Anti-Fall Protection System

The vast majority of people around the world own two wheelers. Due to this, customer’s life as well as vehicle’s safety becomes top most priority. Consumers employ a variety of safety equipment like Anti-lock braking system (ABS), combined braking system (CBS), crash guards, frame sliders, bumper, etc. to keep themselves and their two-wheeler safe. This devices are designed to protect the vehicle in motion. In day to day life, people inadvertently mishandle the vehicle that is to be relocated using self-effort. Since the rider is holding the vehicle from the left side, this imbalance makes the vehicle more likely to tumble on its right side. In order to safeguard the vehicle in this case, a questionnaire survey was conducted to identify the root cause of the problem as well as the necessity of the protection system. Thus the idea behind this safety device "Autoguard" gets developed. This safety feature would be essential and vital in preventing human injuries and vehicle damage. As the name suggest it will protect the vehicle automatically during a fall only if the vehicle is turned off and moved manually. The present research paper founds its problem after careful observation of imbalance caused by mishandling of vehicle from people. It has been determined that there is potential for deploying a safety device to resolve this issue. This paper aims to provide design analysis of safety device that helps to protect the vehicle and the passenger during imbalance. The objective of this paper is to design and analyse 3D model of safety system using Catia and Hyperworks software. Thus for calculating the effect of steady loading conditions, static structural analysis has been performed for studying stresses and deformation of model. Also calculating the factor of safety to find out whether the intended model is safe in design or not. At last to determine the vibrational characteristics (natural frequencies and mode shapes) of model, modal analysis has been performed.
