Statistical Modeling of Automotive Component Noise-Source in accordance with the Load Change

Electromagnetic noise is often a phenomenon with large fluctuation, therefore, it is useful to understand the noise source characteristics including fluctuations in order to design the emissions from a system. For this reason, a method is proposed to construct a statistical model by applying a generalized extreme value distribution to each frequency of noise current obtained by repeatedly measuring on a bench. It aims at obtaining a practical model by a simple method, not a rigid model construction. The method is applied to the noise current from an in-vehicle DCDC converter, and the estimation accuracy of the statistical distribution has been verified. As a result, it is shown that the distribution and the upper limit of noise intensity can be estimated with practical accuracy below 700MHz.
