Efficient Terminal Response Simulation of Shielded Cable Excited by an Electromagnetic Plane Wave

This paper introduces an efficient method to calculate the terminal response of the shielded cable excited by an electromagnetic plane wave. The method is formulated by deriving the multiconductor transmission line equations of a three-conductor transmission line system encompassing the inner wire, the shield and the ground plane. The terminal response is subsequently determined utilizing the Baum–Liu– Tesche (BLT) equation. The results of the proposed method are consistent with those of conventional approach, while a notable reduction in computational time is realized due to the decrease of overall complexity.
