Precision Smart Agricultural Monitoring using LoRaWAN

The backbone of India’s economy is agriculture, and villages are its lifeline. As the population density of this country rises, horticulture’s obstacles and challenges must be addressed in order to meet the nation’s development needs. In modern agriculture, smart technologies are advocated as a solution to this issue. In agriculture, irrigation plays a major role. Our project is to develop a low-power, IoT network using LoRa Wan for smart agriculture and irrigation system. In this system we have implemented and analysed some of the factors like soil moisture, soil temperature and soil conductivity using sensors and the data is transferred over long range communication protocol controlled by STM-32 microcontroller. Every data is transferred by LoRa gateway and from the cloud the farmer gets access to it and can control the irrigation process.The irrigation process can be operated both manually and automatically. The LoRaI/O controller is responsible for this operation. This article provides a report on smart agricultural monitoring and solution using LoRa Wan.
