Experimental Studies About Patch Interval Dependency of as Notch-Filter Properties in Frequency-Selective Sheets

In recent years, frequency discrimination techniques for propagating microwaves have been attracting attention with the spread of wireless systems. One of the convenient notch-filter devices is known as a Frequency-Selective Sheet (FSS) composed of an array of metal patches. Although the control of stopband frequency by metal patch length is well known, the adjustment of stopband width has not been sufficiently studied. In this report, we focus on the effect of patch array interval on the stopband width. Furthermore, based on a large number of measurement results, verification results of the dependency of the stopband width on the patch array interval are described.
