Accurate Extraction for Inductance of Position Indicator Coil in Noisy Environment Using DC Coil

This paper deals with a method to accurately measure the inductance of the position indicator (PI) coil in a noisy environment. It was verified that the proposed method can form the constant permeability distribution over time by flowing DC current to an additional coil below the PI coil through simulation. It was confirmed that the inductance of PI coil varies linearly depending on the position of the control rod. In addition, the relationship between the position of the control rod and inductance was derived. Using the relationship, the position of the control rod can be estimated from the inductance with an error within $7 \%$.
