A Quantitative Channel Pre-Evaluation Method using Eye Aperture for Low-Power Double Data Rate (LPDDR)

In this paper, we propose a quantitative channel pre-evaluation method using eye aperture for low-power double data rate (LPDDR). Complex overlapping signal performance was decomposed into three degradation factors by step responses; degradation due to RC delay, inter-symbol interference (ISI), and crosstalk. The total degradation of the eye aperture is quantitatively evaluated based on the approximated degradation factors. The proposed evaluation method is verified for single and 8-coupled channels in the discrete PKG channel environment of LPDDR. We analyze the effect of degradation according to each channel variable.
