DVOR - Evaluation and Improvement of the Original Scattering Model and Practical Implications

This contribution presents a discussion of the analytical receiver model, which Anderson et. al. presented in 1959 for the navigation system Doppler VOR in order to describe the bearing deviation due to a static, non-dynamic, and omnidirectional scatterer. To do so, it highlights the used approximations, relates the former results to the intended purpose and highlights pitfalls, which are possible by applying graphs of reduced intelligence in the timely context of wind turbines as scattering objects. Furthermore, the analytical model is improved and compared with Anderson’s model.
