Analysis of Electrical Characteristics of Twinax Cable with Asymmetric Structures

This work aims to investigate whether the asymmetrical structure impacts performance. The focus is on the mixed mode of the asymmetric twinax cable. Because of the high mesh count in 3D full-wave simulations, they take a long time. To expedite design, a method has been developed to extract twinax cable RLGC parameters, calculate mixed-mode Sparameters, and perform analysis and evaluations. Also, examine common manufacturing imperfections. This research provides an approach to assist cable manufacturers in the rapid design of twinax cable as a simple structural dimension to define the tolerance.
