Development of Malfunction Simulation Technology in Electrostatic Discharge

If ESD test fails, ESD countermeasures are often analyzed based on the actual equipment, so the analysis time and redesign increase. Recently, there has been a movement to utilize simulations in the upstream phase of development and countermeasures against malfunction. But there is no quantitative model for malfunction judgment, it is only risk extraction. This time, in order to quantify the judgment of ESD malfunction, we used TLP to reproduce the causes of malfunction in ESD tests, referring to the method standardized by IEC62433-6 and we confirmed its effectiveness.
