Optimization of Phase Synchronization of Radio Pulses of a Transistor Microwave Self-excited Oscillator

The issues of optimizing the phase synchronization of the operating mode of a super-regenerative transceiver of an upper-air sonde used in atmospheric radiosonde systems are considered. The classical incoherent method of determining wind speed by changing the coordinates of upper-air sonde during its flight is based on periodically measuring the delay time between the request radio pulse of a ground-based radar and the response signal of the super-regenerative transceiver of the upper-air sonde to determine the slant range between them, which reduces the accuracy of determining wind speed. The use of the coherent-pulse method for measuring the slant range between a ground-based radar station and an upper-air sonde is based on the possibility of imposing the phase of the pulsed request signal of the radar on the response pulsed radio signal of the microwave self-oscillator of the super-regenerative transceiver of the probe. To obtain a coherent mode, it is necessary to switch on the microwave self-oscillator of a super-regenerative transceiver in an optimal way based on selecting the speed and time of the beginning of the rise of the leading edge of the trigger pulse.
