Alternative Estimates of Heart Rate Based on Remote Photoplethysmography Signals Intellectual Analysis

In the paper, methodology of studying the heart rate local features of remote photoplethysmography means obtained pulse wave instantaneous frequency dynamics analysis is presented. Algorithm of processing the raw signal to obtain clean model of pulse wave signal is briefly described. Logically related stages of frequency estimation by means of directly measured quadrature components and biomedical signal outliers’ duration over the threshold levels are analyzed. Three algorithms of heartbeat periods alternative estimates were proposed: in basis of instantaneous phase, by the means of extremum time intervals measurements, with pulse wave signal outliers’ duration analysis. Modern methods of intellectual analysis of non-stationary time series were implemented to obtain realizations of adaptive estimations of instantaneous frequencies of the basic heart rate tone. Compliance of the alternative estimates of pulse wave frequency and RR intervals duration is presented. Discussed methods and algorithms demonstrates as algorithmic as hardware real-time realization applicability that gives advantage in quality-price criteria.
