Construction and Testing of Detailed Simulation Examples for Wind Turbine Generator Units

As global energy demand continues to increase and environmental concerns grow, wind power has emerged as an important source of clean energy worldwide. However, the lack of detailed simulation models for wind turbine generators poses a significant challenge. This paper addresses this gap by introducing a comprehensive simulation model for wind turbine generators and demonstrating its practicality and superiority through experiments. The study is motivated by the need to optimize wind turbine generator performance, stabilize power systems, and broaden the application scope of wind power research. By constructing single-machine simulation models of 2 MW wind turbine generators in Simulink and performing comprehensive simulations of their aerodynamic, mechanical, and electromagnetic components using the open-source software OpenFAST, this research provides theoretical and practical support for the advancement of wind power technology. The comparison with traditional simplified models further reinforces the importance of the detailed simulation approach. The main findings of this study highlight the importance of detailed simulation models in improving wind turbine performance, ensuring power system stability, and expanding the research landscape of wind power technology.
