Model Predictive Control Strategy for Energy Storage Smoothing Ability and Output Power Considering Smoothing Wind Power Fluctuation

The wind-storage combined system (WCS) can suppress wind power fluctuations and improve the economic viability of wind power grid connection. However, the output of energy storage is influenced by multiple factors. This article introduces the suppression capability index of energy storage batteries, designs a multi-objective optimization model for protecting energy storage batteries and ensuring grid-connected power suppression capability, proposes a model predictive control strategy (MPC) based on adaptive adjustment of energy storage charge state, and compares the proposed method with traditional model predictive control methods through simulation. The results show that under the same energy storage configuration ratio, the method proposed in this paper can effectively suppress wind power fluctuations, with better overall performance indicators compared to traditional model prediction methods. While optimizing wind power fluctuations, it also enhances the power support capacity of the energy storage system, balancing the trade-off between energy storage output and stability.
