Hybrid Compensation Topology With Phase-Shift Modulation for DWPT System CC/CV Charging

A receiver-based hybrid compensation topology for the dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) system of electric vehicles (EVs) is presented in this paper. And the proposed hybrid compensation topology consists of a series/series (S/S) compensation network and a series/inductor-capacitor-capacitor (S/LCC) compensation network to realize the constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) charging for EVs. All the compensation components of the S/S compensation network are contained in the S/LCC compensation network, which allows cost saved. Besides, a segmentation-based phase-shift modulation (PSM) strategy is introduced into the hybrid compensation topology to suppress the output fluctuations caused by discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), misalignment and load variation. Finally, a 2-kW prototype is established to validate the feasibility of the proposed hybrid compensation topology and control strategy. And the experimental results show that the output current/voltage are constant during 25cm misalignment when the load varies from 6 to 200Ω.
