An Improved Rotor Position Estimation Method in PMSM Drives with Low-Resolution Hall Sensors

This paper proposes a rotor position estimation method based on low-resolution Hall sensors for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. In this paper, existing Taylor series expansion estimation are analyzed exhaustively firstly. Then targeting the existing problems, the proposed method compensates the Lagrange remainder of the first-order Taylor series expansion and provides a better dynamic performance, which takes previous methods a step further. Finally, The method is verified by the simulation.
