Analysis on Abnormal Line Loss Rate of 1000kV UHV AC Transmission Line

Through regular monitoring of the line loss rates of 1000kV ultra-high voltage AC transmission lines in the Central of China, it was found that the double-circuit 1000kV ultra-high voltage AC transmission line from Xiaoxiang to Ganjiang has experienced abnormal line loss rates for a long time since it was put into operation at the end of 2021. In order to find the reasons, this paper first studies the theoretical line loss rate, statistical line loss rate, power integral electricity consumption and daily average load rate, and finds that the main reasons are not technical issues. Further research indicates that the performance of electric energy metering device is a key factor. This paper presents a method for identifying and analyzing the abnormal line loss rates of transmission lines. This article also points out that corona loss may become the main technical factor affecting the fluctuation of line loss rate, especially for ultra-high voltage AC transmission lines, which requires attention and in-depth research in the future.
