Adaptive Inertial Control of Marine Energy Storage for Pulsed Power Load

This paper investigates an adaptive inertia control of marine energy storage for impulse load. A small-signal model of the marine energy storage device containing multiple groups of flywheels and converters is established, and the power allocation rule of multiple power sources is revealed. By introducing the real-time rotational speed of the flywheel in the inverter control, the adaptive change of virtual synchronous generator control parameters is realized, thus the marine energy storage is able to reasonably allocate the power in the case of unbalance of rotational speed of each group of flywheels, and it can also adjust the support capacity of marine energy storage according to the residual energy of the marine energy storage group, which ensures the stability of the ship's electric power system containing the pulsed power load. The experimental results present the simulation results of the marine energy storage adaptive inertia control under impulse load, which verifies the effectiveness of the control algorithm.
