Deloading Control Strategy of Permanent Magnet Direct Drive Wind Turbine with Adaptive Droop Gain

The growth of renewable power penetration in the grid and the deepening of the power electronics of the power grid have brought challenges to the frequency stability of the power system. The participation of wind turbines in power system frequency regulation is an inevitable requirement for future power systems. Deloading control for wind turbines can provide stable power for the set to participate in frequency regulation. Therefore, in this paper, the fixed-ratio deloading control strategy of direct drive permanent magnet wind turbine is designed by combining rotor overspeed control and pitch angle control in the full wind speed range. Meanwhile, considering the different power standby of the turbine under different wind speeds, an adaptive droop gain scheme for wind turbines is proposed. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by simulation.
