Current Diversion Monitoring Method Based on Temperature-Current Mapping for Multi-Break GCB

Existing pumped storage power station generator outlet circuit breakers (GCB) mostly use SF6 circuit breakers, multi-break parallel design of vacuum circuit breakers is an effective way to solve the problem of insufficient rated current of vacuum interrupters. In this paper, a temperature-current mapping monitoring method for multi-break GCBs is proposed. Firstly, the electromagnetic-thermal multi-physical field coupling model of multi-break GCB based on the finite element method is established. The thermal field distribution law under the influence of different steady state currents, ambient temperature and other multi-factors is studied, and the temperature-current mapping model is constructed by using neural network. Take 24kV/16kA/125kA multi-break GCB as an example, monitor the temperature at the soft connection of GCB and the ambient temperature inside the equipment. Back-calculation of shunt current by temperature-current mapping model and comparison analysis with actual current magnitude. The neural network is then compensated and calibrated to achieve on-line monitoring of shunt currents in multi-break GCBs. The online monitoring method of temperature-current mapping is not only applicable to the current monitoring of multi-break GCBs, but can also provide a reference for the current monitoring of high-current devices.
