Comparison and Analysis of Electromagnetic Characteristics of Hybrid Excitation Generator with Staggered Poles Under Different Structures

In this paper, the topology structure, operation principle and the ability of magnetization and demagnetization of two kinds of hybrid excitation staggered pole machine are compared and analyzed. The difference between the two structures lies in the different positions of the ferromagnetic pole, permanent magnet and DC excitation winding. The two structures can be divided into two section and three section structures. In this paper, the three-dimensional equivalent magnetic circuit method is used for fast analytical modeling of the motor, and the three-dimensional finite element method and the three-dimensional equivalent magnetic circuit are used to analyze the two structures. The ability of increasing and demagnetizing of two sections and three sections staggered pole motor under no-load is analyzed and compared. It is concluded that the magnetizing ability of the two segment structure motor is better than that of the three segment structure motor, while the opposite is true when demagnetizing. Finally, a 10kW two-stage hybrid excitation generator is analyzed for no-load demagnetization results, which verifies the correctness of the equivalent magnetic circuit model.
