Improved Smooth Switching Scheme for Dual-Mode Converters

Due to the inability of a single grid-following control or grid-forming control to adequately adjust the converter to adapt to varying grid impedance, some studies have proposed a dual-mode control based on grid strength. Dual-mode converter employ grid-following control when the grid impedance is low and switch to grid-forming control as the impedance increases. This approach effectively resolves the instability issue of a single control mode when the grid impedance fluctuates. Achieving smooth switching between these two control modes is important in dual-mode control. Based on previous research, this article proposes an improved smooth switching scheme.
