Tensile Test and Defect Identification of Composites Insulator FRP Rod Materials Based on Acoustic Emission Technology

Using acoustic emission (AE) equipment to monitor the static tensile test of composites insulator FRP rod and its component materials, the acoustic emission signals of the three specimens in the tensile process were collected, and through the analysis of the acoustic emission parameters, a method that can be used for identifying the three types of damages, namely matrix cracking, interfacial delamination, and fiber breakage, was proposed. Firstly, the K-means clustering method is used for de noising, and then the random forest (RF) algorithm is used to establish a model to identify the three types of damage signals, namely matrix cracking, interfacial delamination and fiber fracture. The results show that this method can identify the three kinds of damage signals more accurately. For the acoustic emission signals generated by the stretching process of composites insulator FRP rod materials, the total recognition rate of the model reaches 87.3%.
