Overview of Topology Optimization for Flux-Switching Linear Machine

Due to high thrust density, robust structure and low cost, Flux-Switching Linear Machines (FSLMs) have received an intense amount of research interest over the last few decades. The purpose of this paper is to systematically review the research content FSLMs. Firstly, the structure and operation principle were introduced. Then, the various machine topologies of FSLMs to improve output thrust and reduce thrust ripple were summarized and compared. Finally, the main application fields and research hotspots of FSLMs were prospected.
