A Fault-Tolerant Control with Dynamic Braking Strategy for Avivation Winch System

With the gradual development of electric motors, especially permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Electric winch is gradually developing to replace hydraulic winches. Fault during electrification can result in uncontrolled cable release from the winch. In this paper, a fault-tolerant based on dynamic braking strategy is proposed. Emergency braking in case of motor loss of control is realized. The experimental results verify the control strategy.
