A Review Of Conical Rotor Motors

Conical rotor motors are magnetically more complicated than cylindrical ones. The conical shape enables adjustment of the air gap through the axial displacement of the rotor and also results in an axial component of the magnetic force on the rotor, which enables many unique functions for the conical rotor motor. This paper reviews the research trends and key technologies of conical rotor motors from aspects such as structural topology, model simplification, optimization design, and application.
