Design and Primary-Side Control of Wireless Power Transfer Device for Brushless Excitation of High-Speed Flywheel Motors

This paper analyzes the design method and control strategy of the inductive power transfer (IPT) based brushless excitation system for flywheel electrical excited synchronous machines. Both advantages and disadvantages of multiple compensation network topologies for the IPT system are discussed, and the electrical parameters of the coupler are designed based on efficiency and robustness principles. For the specific application of non-contact power supply to rotating components, a method for estimating field current based on primary-side information is proposed, and a double closed-loop current control algorithm based on current prediction control and reduced-order linearized dynamic model is designed. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
