Modal Analysis and Verification of Permanent Magnet Wind Generators Stator

With the rapid advancement of permanent magnet wind generators, the semi-direct drive high speed scheme has become the prevailing approach. With the increase of motor speed, it is prone to resonate with the stator structure, which affects the safe and stable operation of the motor, so it is necessary to carry out modal analysis of the motor in the design stage. The present study establishes a finite element model for the stator of an 8WM permanent magnet wind generator. Subsequently, modal analysis is conducted using the finite element analysis method to determine the natural frequency and vibration mode of the motor stator structure. Finally, a hammering modal test is performed to validate the accuracy of the finite element analysis. The results demonstrate that under rated working conditions, there exists a significant disparity in both frequency and mode between electromagnetic excitation and structural vibration in permanent magnet motors, thereby eliminating any possibility of resonance. Consequently, it can be concluded that the design of the motor's stator structure is rational.
