Performance Analysis of a New Flux-Concentrated Flux Reversal Machine with Consequent Poles

Conventional flux reversal machine (FRM) has received a lot of attention due to the simple structure and easy thermal dissipation. In order to increase torque density and efficiency, this paper proposes a novel flux-concentrated flux reversal machine (FC-FRM) with V-shaped consequent poles. Moreover, the topology and working principle of the proposed FC-FRM are introduced. Then, different slot-pole combinations are analyzed. Finally, under the same permanent magnet volume and copper loss, the proposed FC-FRM is compared with the conventional structure. The results show that the proposed FC-FRM exhibits higher torque density, power factor and efficiency.
