Induced Voltage and Current in Overhead Ground Wire Considering Arc Sag and Study of Ground Wire Electricity Loss

Carbon emissions from the power industry account for a large proportion of carbon emissions from the energy industry. The line loss rate of overhead ground wire is low, but the absolute amount should not be ignored, and it is necessary to further reduce the loss of ground wire. The analysis of induced voltage, current, and loss under the conditions of complex overhead wires is the basis of the research on loss reduction of ground wire. However, the existing studies are mostly focused on the simulation level, with less research on the calculation method, and there are often problems such as ignoring the arc sag and the spatial structure of the wire. The main contributions of this paper are: 1) it proposes the calculation method of electromagnetically induced voltage and current of ground wire considering the arc sag; 2) A method for calculating the current along the ground wire and loss of ground wire considering the distribution parameters and spatial structure of the wires is proposed by combining the operations of indefinite conductance matrix blocking and parallel termination. It can be verified that the accuracy of the induced voltage and current calculation is not less than 95.26%; the accuracy of the calculation of the current along the ground wire is not less than 92.31%; the accuracy of ground wire loss calculation is not less than 92.30%. The proposed method provides a useful reference for the analysis of key influencing factors of ground wire loss and the research of ground wire loss reduction strategy.
