Comprehensive Resilience Assessment of Distribution Network In Extreme Weather

The power system, as a vital infrastructure, is expected to withstand the impacts of rare yet severe events such as extreme weather. This paper introduces a comprehensive method for evaluating the resilience of distribution networks during extreme weather. First, the failure rate model of distribution network components is established, and the Monte Carlo method is used to simulate extreme weather and generate scenarios involving random failures within the distribution network caused by the typhoon. Subsequently, a resilience assessment system is formulated considering the entire process from fault occurrence to network recovery, incorporating indicators such as load loss rate, average recovery time of critical loads, resilience coefficient, and island continuity, and a comprehensive evaluation is obtained by subjective and objective weighting methods. The effectiveness of the proposed assessment method is then validated through simulation analysis using the modified IEEE 33-bus system.
