Knowledge of Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain Technology Through the Eyes of Different Generations

Digitalization has brought many changes to our lives, bringing new opportunities, ways of working and solutions. It has also deeply affected the field of finance, in particular the way payments are made. New instruments have emerged in the form of cryptocurrencies, which now number more than 23,000. Creating cryptocurrencies today is a very simple task, but it is pointless to have so many if they are not accepted and used. The aim of this study is to assess, based on the results of a non-representative questionnaire survey conducted in Hungary, the attitudes of respondents of different generations towards cryptocurrencies and the related blockchain technology. Our aim is to highlight key similarities and differences in order to provide a basis for future research by profiling users as thoroughly as possible.
