Microeconomic Factors Affecting Competitiveness Based on the Opinion of Hungarian Companies1

As economic complexity intensifies, competitiveness appears as a dynamic concept that transcends the boundaries of industries and national economies. In addition to mere market share or profitability, competitiveness is a truly multifaceted concept that examines the essential elements that determine success in a given environment. It includes addressing challenges effectively, identifying and exploiting opportunities, and reaping sustainable benefits. As a concept, competitiveness is not static, evolving in response to changing market dynamics, technological advances, and changing consumer preferences. This study offers an opportunity to explore the fundamental context of competitiveness and, above all, to establish a link between microeconomic factors and the evolution of competitiveness. In addition to the literature review, the results of a primary research will be presented. This research seeks to find answers to which of the factors affecting the competitiveness of Hungarian enterprises can be directly related to the change in microeconomic factors. One thing can be said without research. The events of recent years have brought significant changes and changes in the business environment, so this has not left the world of businesses untouched either. This study focuses on this very idea and approaches the issue of competitiveness through a list of literature as well as primary research findings.
