ALO-tuned Supertwisted Synergetic Control of a CPL-fed Boost Converter in DC Microgrid

The existence of constant power loads (CPLs) has the potential to compromise the stability of DC microgrids (DCMGs). This paper proposed an Antlion Optimizer-tuned Supertwisted Synergetic Control (ALO-SSC) designed to effectively regulate the output voltage and inductor current of a CPL-fed boost converter within a DC microgrid. The effectiveness of the proposed controller has been confirmed through an extensive array of simulations, encompassing variations in CPL, resistive load adjustments, and fluctuations in input voltage. Comparative analysis with conventional Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and Synergetic Control reveals the robustness and superior performance of the ALO-SSC approach, evidenced by a rapid rise time of 1.5ms, swift settling time of 3ms, zero steady-state error, and negligible chattering.
