Resilience Oriented Distributed Secondary Control for Networked Microgrids: A Case Study From Indonesia

This paper proposes a comprehensive system-level comparison of secondary controllers for networked power electronic-based AC microgrids (ACMGs) consisting of several voltage source inverters (VSIs). A case study of an ACMG in remote Indonesian regions is considered and the performance of a centralized and distributed secondary control scheme is investigated across various simulation scenarios. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed distributed controller outperforms the conventional centralized controller in terms of voltage reference tracking and plug-and-play functionality under abrupt load disturbances. This study realizes a stable and coordinated operation of networked community ACMGs, contributing to enhanced reliability and resiliency for power supply in remote areas.
