Evaluation Method of Integrated Electricity-Gas Distribution Network Resilience under Typhoon Disaster

To prevent severe power outage during the typhoon landfall process, distribution networks must possess the ability to withstand wind disasters, minimize load losses, and rapidly restore power to the interrupted loads. Within the framework of integrated energy systems, the electricity-gas interconnection system brings gas and electricity together as two energy sources in close proximity. They can assist one another in the event of a failure, boosting the resilience of the distribution network. This study presents a method for assessing the resilience of the distribution network that accounts for the impact of gas and electricity interconnection. Based on the wind field model for typhoons, the time-varying failure rate of distribution lines during typhoon passage is calculated. This failure rate is then utilized for random sampling to generate distribution network failure scenarios. For islanding scenarios, the islanded load can be supplied by gas turbines, and the load deficit within the island is calculated based on the optimal load shedding model. The resilience indicator in the distribution network refers to the area where the load curve is not present. To evaluate the resilience of the network, a Monte Carlo simulation is employed, which considers the impact of the electricity-gas connections. Lastly, an enhanced IEEE 33 distribution system case study is employed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, and the enhancement of distribution network resilience due to electricity-gas interconnection is quantitatively analyzed.
