Study of Some TMCs Heterostructures Band Diagrams for Photonics Applications

This paper presents the study results on the transition metal chalcogenides (TMCs) optoelectronic properties for photonics applications. To do this, titanium trisulfide TiS
3
and titanium disulfide TiS
2
were synthesized while molybdenum disulfide MoS
2
and tungsten disulfide WS
2
were exfoliated. Their band gaps were determined in order to calculate the band diagrams of the TiS
3
-MoS
2
, TiS
2
-TiS
3
, TiS
2
-WS
2
, MoS
2
-WS
2
, and compounds. The calculation results demonstrate the relevance of using different materials heterostructures for the development of new generation photodetectors.
