Watermarking Method for Protecting MVT Geospatial Data Without Visible Distortions

The paper proposes and studies a method for protecting vector geospatial data in the MVT format. For this purpose, a digital watermark is built into the protected data. The watermark embedding changes the storage structure of map objects, but this does not lead to any visual changes. Studies have shown the robustness of the watermark to a number of typical map distortions: addition, deletion, shift of individual objects etc. This makes the proposed method a promising means of protecting copyrights for MVT cartographic data.
