Experimental Study and Design of RLC Resonant Circuit

LC resonance is a specific working state of the sinusoidal stable circuit. A teaching methodology following the sequence of “theoretical analysis-typical applications-experimental verification-interactive discussion” is taken in classroom. Students are first led into a guided analysis of the principle and nature of the RLC resonance circuit, to be followed by description of typical resonance circuit applications such as the tuning circuit and the voltage withstand experiment. To help students better understand and master the technical indicators of the resonance circuit-quality factor and passband, a simulation experiment is conducted to estimate the quality factor and to help gain a deeper perception into its physical significance. Finally, by means of interactive classroom discussion, some actual problems of the resonance circuit are addressed so that students are guided and stimulated to explore the greater range of its application, and thereby achieve the purpose of developing flexible use capability of basic knowledge, improving comprehensive experimental analysis, and strengthening innovative thinking.
